Michael Furgang Photography

Bio

Michael Furgang is a Photographer and Programmer by trade. He has three degrees related to digital media and programming and has been working with digital cameras and Photoshop for the past 10 years. He was formally trained in film, but quickly made the transition from film to digital photography when he felt the quality of digital SLR cameras met that of traditional film. Digital photography is also an environmentally sound choice over traditional chemical based film processing.

Currently, he is working full time at Clough Harbour & Associates as the manager of Application Services. Michael and his team are responsible for the design, development, and implementation of all corporate websites, applications, databases, and programming. On a freelance basis Michael can be hired for weddings, corporate events, portraits, magazine assignments, location scout, and fine art photography services. He was published in the summer issue of Saratoga Living, and was recently selected as the 1st place winner in the Downtown Albany BID's Quadricentennial Commemorative Calendar.

Michael's personal passion revolves around nature, landscape, and architecture photography and he on the forefront of High Dynamic Range fine art photography. He currently lives with his wife and two Irish Setters on the Darrow school campus in New Lebanon NY.

Equipment

Michael solely shoots with Canon's top of the line full frame digital SLR cameras. This line of full frame cameras produce images with the equivalent dimensions of traditional film. The cameras have a range of 12.8 to 21.1 megapixel, and are capable of producing images that can be printed at 4x6 to 40x60 inches. Michael uses only the finest Canon L-series lenses and travels with a portable lighting studio.
